Instructions
Make sure your radio is turned off locate the Campac module slot on your radio and remove the dust cap. Insert your 256K Campac component side facing towards the alignment groove inside the make sure that the 7 receptacle pins on the module line up with the 7 pins inside the slot – so that is not shifted one pin to the left or right. Take care not to install the module incorrectly, as this could result in damage to the 256K memory module and/or your transmitter.
Replace the dust cap. When you turn on your radio you’ll be prompted to activate the new memory module. Press the “+”, “Mode”, or “Yes” key (for the 8U, 9C/10C or 9Z, respectively) – instructions for this are also included in your radio manual. The radio will take a moment to initialize the memory module. When the radio is finished initializing the module, you will have a number of additional models select from in your radio menu.
The push button on the unit is used to change banks. A 24LC256 for example allows 4 banks of 64k just hold the button down when you turn it on to switch from one bank to the next. When we release the pusher, the led indicates by its number of flashing the bank on which we are. These flashes are repeated until the transmitter is turned off. As long as this has not been done, the transmitter behaves as if it did not have a Campac and if the last model used was a model in Campac, it is notified to you by a return to the model N ° 1 of the issuer. If during these flashes, you press the button again, you go to the next bank (version 3.1 of the program). The new number of flashes indicates the thing.
Notes: Modules can be exchanged among similar radios, but inserting a memory module into a different type of radio (8U to 9C, for example) and activating it in the new radio will cause the radio to overwrite the existing memory, erasing all model data.
